I rejoined the school band and I had to help out with the beginners. I used communication to help the beginners learn about music and to understand it. Communication also helped because I was able to make them feel comfortable around me and free to ask me any questions. -anne marie
An instance in the past 3 months where i've applied myself from something i learned during Leadership Day One would be lead basically. Not to be afraid to step up and show people what i could do. I applied this mostly during cheerleading helping my fellow cheerleaders with what i could. -Justine Lane
I have experienced a lot of times since the first day of leadership class that I have got to lead a group or help others. I recently went to a place called "GO Center Training" where no one in each group knew each other and I was able to help everyone interact and feel more comfortable. There have been other experiences as well that I have had to step up and take charge and I don't think I would have been as confident if not for this leadership program.
One day after Leadership 2006, I used the skills that I learned to help make decisions in the band I have with my friends. The leadership skills I obtained from Leadership2006 helped me very much in decision-making and getting my own ideas across to others. -chris feghalI
the leadership skill that I applied to my self in the last three months was being a good leader.I was a leader in my cooking class and i helped the kids that needed help on nowing wha to do in the kitchens when cooking.
I applied the leadership skills dedication and respect. I had a dance performance to practice for, and I was at every single rehersal showing respect to my teacher and other dancers.
I have had a wonderful time on both days of the leadership program so far. It has been a fun, learning experience! Not to long after the first class I was picked to go to another program called the Go center. It was also about leadership. I used all of the new skills I had learned here and used them there. I was more outgoing and expressed my opinions and thoughts. I was more open and had a lot of fun. I am so glad that I had the oppurtunity to learn about leadership. It has helped me a lot! Sarah
The first leadership day tught me the importance of communication within the group that you are working. It also showed me sometimes the most important details are overlooked. I have also learned that using all the available resources is wise. Matt Ahern
I have had many experiences where I have used skills that were taught to me at Leadership 2006. In band I am first chair percussionist so when other drummers in my grade and in younger grades need help I have more knowledge of how to communicate to them what they could to to get better or what they should do to fix a problem they are having. When someone comes to me with a question I know how to explain the answer to them so they will understand.
In science class we were doing a project that involved going infront of people and telling the results, and I felt comfortable infront of people. ~Deanna~
