Why is it important for you to be able to work with others and to make decisions as a member of a group?

Teamwork was very important in this excersize. Without the group effort of each individual member, the entire structure could not be completed. Decision making is also very important, as you have limited time and need to progress quickly but effectively.
If you aren't able to communicate within a group it would be really difficult to be successful. When we were working on the straw towers the most important thing was to incorporate everyone's ideas into one major plan so speaking in the group helped a lot. Now I better understand the fact that communicating does really help when leading a group.
This task showed us that plans will often change when they are seen to be impratical for the current situation. Each person must contribute to the group or some of the potential will be lost.

This is important because your final product can be better based on how much input you get from each of the team members. In the straw tower activity ideas from everyone were incorporated in our structure and it turned out to be a success. -anne marie
Being able to work with others in a group is important, because affectively working with those people can cause the solution to the problem to appear much faster than it would if it was jsut you. In my group we all put in our ideas. As we found faults in others ideas we fixed those problems. If we all had ideas that made sence then we just put all of our ideas together as best as pssible and created what we could.
Straw towers are hard to make and would be even more difficult if the people in the group didn't talk. Communication is important. If you don't talk to each other how can everyone fufill there expectations and feel successful.
